What we are all about

At our preschool, we understand that every child is unique, and we adapt to their individual needs and developmental pace. We believe that children thrive when they spend more time outdoors. The benefits are countless—outdoor play supports physical and mental health, encourages physical activity, reduces stress and anxiety, and fosters a deep connection with nature.

Our program blends outdoor exploration with creative learning, offering activities such as art, imaginative play, building projects, and class-based play. Circle times come to life with stories, songs, and activities—always within the beautiful, natural surroundings of the park. We’re lucky to partner with the City of Concord to bring this special program to life!

Our preschool program runs monthly from September through April, giving children an enriching and immersive experience every step of the way.

Why Children thrive here

  • Children playing by a creek in a forest setting, surrounded by trees and foliage.

    Play Based Learning

We are a play-based preschool, which means children learn best through hands-on, interactive experiences. Instead of traditional classroom settings, we encourage learning through exploration and play. Whether it’s building, pretending, or interacting with nature, our activities foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking in a fun, engaging way.

  • A child creating art with flowers and paint at an outdoor table. A tray with yellow flowers is on the table, along with paper covered in colorful paint smudges and flower prints.

    Balanced Curriculum

We follow a curriculum that balances play and learning. While outdoor exploration and play are at the heart of our program, we also introduce them to shapes, letters, literacy, and math. Our curriculum integrates these key areas into activities that are fun, allowing children to learn through play but at their pace.

  • A woman reading a children's book to a group of kids outdoors, with colorful illustrations of a rainbow and rabbits visible in the book.

    Fun and Educational Circle Times

Circle times are a key part of our program. These moments are fun and educational, where we gather to learn about the weather, the days of the week, counting, and letters. Through music, stories, and group discussions, children engage in a social, interactive setting that encourages language development and an understanding of the world around them.

Preschool Program Creator and Lead Teacher

When I set out to create a preschool program, I wanted to bring the things I love about early childhood education into the great outdoors. After discovering Markham Nature Park, I knew I had found the perfect place to build our ideal program. The park’s beautiful gardens, small trails, and peaceful creek offer a unique, natural setting where children can explore and grow.
